Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word!  This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to
connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other,
and generally just share our love of books!

Book Blogger Hop (11/12-11/15)
"If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"

My answer : no. It's always very hard to find the first title, so I' d rather not read than have a story with no beginning.

Book Blogger Hop (11/26-11/29)
"What is your favorite book cover?"

        Definitely Fallen
 Or maybe Brighid' Quest
Or was it Hush, Hush...

  2. Hi Jez. I'm a new follower. I always start with the first book in a series, but you're right - if you can't find the first book, it's better to read later ones than nothing at all.

  3. Hi Jez! Hopping through. I agree with what you said- it's pretty much pointless building on a story with no foundation.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Totally agree - I can't read books out of sequence. I always feel as if I'm missing something.

Glad to have found you via the Hop!

  5. I can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
    doesn't run chronologically.

That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.

On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

  8. Hi I am a new follower from the hop. You have a nice blog. I look forward to reading your posts!

I can't start a series in the middle. I have to have all the series before I can read the books. Quirky I know!

  9. Blog-hopping by to visit and follow! I so agree on the Fallen and Hush, Hush covers. For some reason, angel YA gets the best covers in existence--they practically beg to be purchased. :-)

  10. Your newest follower! Out of the book covers you picked, I'm going with Hush, Hush. Seventy-five percent of the book blogging community chose Fallen as their favorite book cover, so I'm going to be a rebel and pick another ;-)
