Review : BETRAYED by P.C and Kristin Cast

It's only been a month since Zoey Redbird was Marked. Since it's Parent's Day Zoey's Grandma Sylvia was here in the House of Night, along with Zoey's mother and step-loser. Zoey's stepfather caused a scene in the House of Night, leaving Zoey ashamed. To make matters worse, Zoey Imprinted with her human ex-boyfriend, Heayh, and dating Erik Night while having something going on with the new poet laureate Loren Blake. When high school jocks disappeared and were found dead days later, Zoey must try her best to stop the war between human and vampires.

Same as Marked, Betrayed is a delicious vampire novel staged in Tulsa. A new kind of fledgling is introduced and the story is as fast-paced as the previous book. Zoey Redbird is as funny and beautiful as ever with her new tattoos. The suspense and strong plot make this a good read.

How can you not like the cover of The House of Night Series?

Review: MARKED by P.C and Kristin Cast

16 year-old Zoey Redbird was a teen in a crappy family. Once she was Marked, she joins the House of Night in Tulsa, where fledgling vampires train to become adult vamp. Zoey made fast friend with fledgling Stevie-Rae and become instant enemy with a powerful fledgling in school, Aphrodite. To start a new life is hard, but on top of that, Zoey has to cope with her affinities - yes, affinities - and ex human boyfriend Heath. Oh, and the hottest male fledgling, Erik Night has his eyes on her.

I still remember the first time I'd read this book - I was completely entranced! Introducing a new kind of vampires, the Casts created a world of magick built on old Cherokee legends. The character is lovable and funny and her monologues will make you laugh. The story is not only on teen vampire drama, it also focuses on outcasts who wants to be accepted.

I totally heart the dark, mysterious cover. Don't you?

"What book(s) would you like to see turned into a movie?"
Definitely the House of Night series! What else could be better than vampires, romances, myths, and pure teenager drama? (Or would it be better in a TV series?)

Review : PRISONER OF ZENDA by Anthony Hope

Rudolf Rassendyll is a young man in 18th (or is it 19th) century London. He is 29 and he's unemployed. He goes to Ruritania in central Europe for a coronation and by accidence, he met King Rudolf the Fifth. Rudolf and the King are shocked by their near resemblance to each other and here enters the wicked Rupert of Hentzau and his plan to depose the King. At the same time, Rudolf falls in love with the beautiful Princess Flavia, whom King Rudolf is going to marry.

I read the simplified version of the text and boy, was it BORING! I always hadn't like to read simplified version of books, so maybe I was a little prejudiced. The language is simple and the plot boring that I fell asleep halfway through it, even when I'm not supposed to.

The cover : seriously?

Here's my review for the week :

Review : MY SISTER'S KEEPER by Jodi Picoult

Anna Fitzgerald is a normal teen, only that she has a sick sister, and that she was born only to save her sister, Kate. When Kate needs a kidney from Anna, she refuses, and filed a lawsuit against her mother, Sara for medical emancipation instead. So begins the fight between mother and daughter, besides the race to save Kate.

Picoult writes with real emotion and true talent. It is a moving tale, I even cried for a while (don't tell people about that). The book is full of suspense and medical terms (ugh!), themed on love, family and sacrifice, narrated alternately by characters of the book. But the ending made me feel sad...

Actually, this is not the cover of my version of the book. Mine is the cover featuring Abigail Breslin and Cameron Diaz  in the movie. But still, I like this version better because it's a little more, um, artsy.
