Review : I DON'T WANT TO BE CRAZY by Samantha Schutz

Samanta Schutz tells her story of getting anxiety disorder. Before she's unwell, she's a teen in highschool, yearning to be free from her parent's control, and away from her on-and-off boyfriend, Jason. But when Samantha went to college, high-pressured life caused her to panic each time she went into a crowded or dark room. Get through daily life with Samantha as she endures panic attacks, pressure and boyfriend trouble.

I Don't Want To Be Crazy is a fresh reading material as it is in poetry form. Schutz's words are genuine and true to her heart, and although she's writing about her panic disorder, you can relate to her dark moods, difficulties in pulling herself out of the room and boyfriend stuff. The little fault in this book is that at places it's a little bit of a drag, but otherwise, it's a good read.

I like the simple, easy cover, suiting the title of the book perfectly.

Waiting On Wednesdays - 30 March

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm waiting for this week (and for the few coming months) is : BEAUTIFUL CHAOS by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Can't wait for the release on 18 October, 2011 'cause I quite enjoyed Beautiful Creatures and Beautiful Darkness.

Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home, strangeand impossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena’s Claiming. Even Lena’s family of powerful Supernaturals is affected – and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What – or who – will need to be sacrificed to save Gatlin?

For Ethan, the chaos is a frightening but welcome distraction. He’s being haunted in his dreams again, but this time it isn’t by Lena – and whatever is haunting him is following him out of his dreams and into his everyday life. Even worse, Ethan is gradually losing pieces of himself – forgetting names, phone numbers, even memories. He doesn’t know why, and most days he’s too afraid to ask.

Sometimes there isn’t just one answer or one choice. Sometimes there’s no going back. And this time there won’t be a happy ending.

The book I'm waiting for that I can think of the moment is : BLOODLINES by Richelle Mead. It is the spin off of the Vampire Academy Series, starring alchemist Sydney. I'm already a big fan of Vampire Academy so I can't wait for this one too.

Review : LEGACY by Kate Brian

Billings girl, Cheyenne Martin is dead, everyone, especially the Billings girls are struggling to recover. With Cheyenne dead, Noelle expelled and Ariana institutionalized, Reed Brennan is selected as the new Billings president, and she's delighted with the newfound power. Cheyenne's father is the one who's paying the bills for the biggest party in the coast - the Legacy. But devastated by the death of his precious daughter, he cancels the party. When news of students and ex-students of other exclusive boarding schools getting invites to the Legacy, Reed  finds a way to get the Easton students invites, but not before the academy is shocked by the return of Noelle. Will Reed find a way to get the guys into the Legacy, or will she be remembered as the worst president of Billings Hall?

As usual, Brian did a great work with Legacy. Fast and witty, Legacy keeps you on edge. It is filled with suspense, and -why not?- drama. One highlight of the novel is Reed's struggle with the power she'd found, when it causes stress with her best friend, Sabina and her boyfriend Josh Hollis, who loathes the Billings girls. You might also wanna see some scenes between Reed and Noelle's ex, Dash, who's totally hot and gorgeous. a cliff hanger at the end, Legacy is a wonderful masterpiece.

I have to say that I don't love the covers of this series, but I like this more than Confessions. Besides, I have no idea who the cover model's supposed to be. I don't know, maybe it was just me.

Review : CONFESSIONS by Kate Brian

Reed Brennan is the new Billings girl in superposh Easton Academy. There, she tries to make a new image of herself as a popular and outgoing student. She gets closer to her goal when Thomas Pearson starts hitting on her. But when Thomas turns up dead, Reed's new boyfriend, Josh Hollis is taken away as a murderer. Reed's gut instinct tells her that Josh is not a killer, and that the real murderer is still out on the lose. But with everyone worrying about the trips on Thanksgiving, or whether the cashmere is warm enough, finding the killer without any help seems impossible.

This 200 pages plus novel is an installment of a Private series. Gripping and face paced, it will keep you reading non stop. The plot is interesting, filled with suspense (there's murder involved!) with an unexpected outcome, making total sense, even if it's a little different from what ordinary boarding school students might experience. Every reader will relate to the main characters needs of  fitting in desperately, no matter the costs. The side characters are a little annoying though playing perfect roles in the plot. One thing I don't like is not getting to read the whole series, but it's hardly the authors fault in writing!

To me  the cover is only so-so. I don't love it, only like it.

In My Mailbox - 6 March

This is my first In My Mailbox post!
In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren.

Books I'd bought/ borrowed this week :

1. Beatrice and Virgil - Yann Martel
" This is the story of an extraordinary journey taken by a man named Henry. It begins with a mysterious parcel. It ends in a place that will make you think again about one of the most significant events of the twentieth century. It also involves a howler monkey, a donkey, an enigmatic taxidermist and a dog named Erasmus. Once you have finished reading it, it is impossible to forget."

2. Mercy - Jodi Picoult
" The police chief of a small Massachusetts town, Cameron McDonald , makes the toughest arrest of his life when his own cousin Jamie comes and confess that he has killed his terminally ill wife out of mercy.
Now, a heated murder trial plunges the town into upheaval and drives a wedge into a contented marriage : Cameron, aiding a prosecution in its case against Jamie, is suddenly at odds with his devoted wife, Allie, who is seduced by the idea of a man so in love with his life that he'd grant all her wishes, even her wish to end her life. and when an inexplicable attraction leads to a shocking betrayal, Allie faces the hardest question of the heart : When does love cross the line of moral obligation? And what does it mean to truly love each other? "

 Have a nice day!

Rview : LAST SACRIFICE by Richelle Mead

Rosemary Hathaway is accused of murdering Moroi queen, Tatiana and is locked up. With her execution scheduled after elections for the new Queen or King, Rose lives in despair. That is until her friends bust her out of jail. So begins Rose's run as a fugitive, with some unexpected partner, Dimitri and Alchemist, Sydney. As Rose stays in a small town hiding, Lissa and the others are at the Court, trying to clear Rose's name. Yet how could a small town keep Rose down? After a few fights and punches, Rose manages to persuade Dimitri and Sydney to embark on a journey to find another Dragomir child.

Last Sacrifice is the last book in Rose's narrative. The series end beautifully with a engaging novel. The plot is always in a crescendo, completely entrancing. The story is well layered, giving readers a good dose of romance and adrenaline. Another highlight of the novel is Rose's and Dimitri's relationship, as they fought their way to justice. It will leave you crying and laughing at the same time. The best in the series so far. Bravo, Mead!

The cover of the series is good in general, but the blank expression of the model annoys me a little.

Okay, this is hard. Think hard, Jez. Think hard... Nope, can't think up any book villian, much less a favourite one.
